Canton of Axed Root

When: June 24, 2006 from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM
Where: Cottonwood Shelter, North River Valley Park, Ames, IA (directions below)

Schedule:

• 10:00 AM – Site offically opens (though you’re welcome to come earlier, if you wish)
• Whenever – Fighting Starts
• 12:00 PM – A&S Championship Entries Due
• 2:00 PM – Archer Championship (Thrown Weapons Section)
• 5:00 PM – Baronial Court
• After Court – Dinner
• After Dinner – ?

Fighting: There will be pickup fighting throughout the day. We’ll figure out the specifics once we see who’s there.

Arts & Sciences: Bring your best A&S project from last year and enter it in the Baronial A&S Championship.

Archery and Thrown Weapons: We will have an archery and thrown weapons range set up. We will be holding the TW section of the Baronial Archery Championship.

Lunch: There won’t be any formal lunch, but the site has grills if you want to use them, and there are a number of resteraunts and grocery stores nearby. Bring your own food.

Dinner: After Court, we’ll have a potluck BBQ. Bring your own meat to be grilled, and a side dish/chips/whatever to share. There are power outlets everywhere if you want to bring a crock pot or roaster.

Directions: Take I-35 to Ames exit #113. Go west on 13th street until you cross the river. Take a right into North River Valley Park (it’s the entrance after the baseball diamonds). Take the next right.
