Life goes on…

Sorry I haven’t updated in a while, but there hasn’t been much to say. The leg is healing well. The stitches from the surgery came out yesterday. This evening I’ll teach my first class in weeks, a “Life Club” with adults, on the subject of “Culture of America”. Nice and specific, huh? It looks like I’ll be having 1 class a day for now, teaching adults and upper-level teenagers. Little kids probably aren’t a good idea just yet.

We’ve been unable to find crutches less than 5″ too short for me. Eileen at school has called shops all over town, but with no success. And let me tell you, hobbling around on too-short crutches is exhausting work. So on a whim, Nichole bought me a wheelchair. It makes going out to run errands or get some dinner much easier, not to mention rolling around the office. She’s kindly attached a big “GIMP MOBILE” sign to the back as well, in case there was any doubt as to its purpose.

When it’s a major production just to get down the stairs from our apartment, I don’t go out and have many adventures. I’ll post updates if something interesting happens or I think of something clever to say, but don’t get your hopes up.
