The Walk to Work

Last week, I took my camera with me on the walk to work. The variety of stores I walk past every day always amazes me. This place is a home engineer’s paradise. Every piece of hardware I could conceivably want is easily available within a mile of my front door, and for a tiny fraction of what it would cost in the US. These are some of the more interesting sights (at least to me)…

The Walk to Work
Windstorm? Post-apocalyptic wasteland? Nope, just road construction. And since nobody put up any barriers, there were cars trying to drive through this mess.

Casters, etc.

“How many valves could a valve shop stock if a valve shop could stock valves?”

One of many tool stores. Sadly, I’ve actually gone window shopping in these places.

The Walk to Work
Seed Lady. All seeds, all the time.

The Walk to Work
All the plastic stock you’ll ever need. This place has come in handy more than once.

The Walk to Work
The lightbulb store.

The Walk to Work
“Your one stop rope shop.”

The Walk to Work
Just down the street from the school, this little shop sells a wide assortment of household goods.
