A Day in the Park

Wednesday and Thursday are our days off. We spent most of yesterday at home, doing laundry and so on. My computer’s hard drive decided to die last night, but I was lucky to find a tiny computer shop just down the block which had one to sell me (a name brand for far less than in the USA). We watched some TV, but didn’t accomplish a lot.
Today, however, we decided we’d spend some time wandering. We have only seen a small fraction of the city, and so we started by exploring some of the parts we’d noticed earlier.

Our first stop was Shazhou Park, just down the street from us. From the street, it looks like a fairly small park with a fountain, some benches, and so on. However, a bit of exploring took us over a canal into a much larger part of the park, which was absolutely amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it, let alone a free city park. Explore all the photos, but here are a few highlights:

After spending quite a while in the park, we wandered off through the rest of town. We didn’t go anywhere specific, but we covered a lot of unfamiliar ground, and saw a few new places to explore in the future. We’ll talk about them another time.
